			 COMMANDS

The SOLITR program works best on a DataDisc, though it does what it can on
a DataMedia (or equivalent terminal). When started up (via "R SOLITR"), it
will ask for a file name. If you have saved a game in progress, you may
specify the file name and pick up in the middle of the game; otherwise type
just a carriage return and the program will "shuffle" and deal a new game.

After the initial file-name question, the program enters the main command
loop, wherein it prompts for input with a "*".	Erroneous input, including
attempts at making illegal moves, will result in a beep. All commands
are terminated with a carriage return or, if you prefer, altmode. The
commands currently available are [in order of importance]:

* <n> Move card from discard pile to pile <n>
* 8 Move card from discard pile to aces pile
* Move card from discard pile (to some available pile)
<n> <m> Move card(s) from pile <n> to pile <m>
<n> 8 Move bottom card from pile <n> to aces pile
<n> Move card(s) from pile <n> to either the aces pile or
		    another pile, if possible.
-<k> Back up over <k> moves.
(alt> or D	Turn over more cards. When not playing "Vegas" rules, the
discard pile is automatically turned over when the player
reaches the end of the deck.
A <k> Automatically save the game in SOLITR.TMP after every <k> moves.
F Ask for a file name & save the game (including all prior moves).
P <n> Print col <n> in text form (in case it's too scrunched to read).
Q Quit (you'll be asked to confirm).
? or H Display help information
V Play Vegas style. See later. This command must be given
before the first <alt> (or D) command.
R Redraw the screen.
S Give number of cards in the deck and in the discard pile.
B <n> } Cheating commands. See later.
C     }

		       VEGAS RULES

One can play solitaire in one of two modes, "normal" or "Vegas-style".

In normal mode, cards are turned over from the pack three at a time
onto the discard pile. When the end of the pack is reached, the discard
pile is turned over to become the new pack.

In Vegas-style solitaire, the pack is turned over one card at a time.
The player is allowed to go through the pack only once.

You win or lose "Vegas-style" as follows: To play a game of solitaire
costs $52, one dollar per card. You get $5 per card in the ace piles.
You get $500 if you play out.
			 CHEATING

The following commands are available if you feel like cheating.

B <n> Give a list of the face-down cards in pile <n>.

C Rotate the discard pile by taking the top card and
putting it at the bottom of the discard pile.

The program keeps track of how many times you cheat. It admonishes
you at the end if you cheat too many times.

Most of the code for this program was stolen wholesale from Don Woods'
"SPIDER" program.
